Steven Ward – Vice President – Sales

Company-founder & Managing Partner. 30 years experience & expertice industrial water recycling & wastewater treatment. Master’s Thesis evaluating economics of water recycling by PCB manufacturers.

Steve graduated Phi Beta Kappa from U.C. Berkeley with a B.A. in International Relations in 1991 before earning his Masters of Public Health (MPH) Degree from SDSU in 2001 for his Thesis on the Economics of Water Recycling by Printed Circuit Board Manufacturers. Its genesis was Steve’s 2 years as EH&S Manager for a PCB manufacturer when as part of a $6 million new facility & equipment project he installed then managed a state-of-the art Kinetico-built integrated ion exchange water recycling, copper scavenging & electrolytic recovery, reverse osmosis, and wastewater treatment system that produced 55-gpm of DI water by recycling close to 20-million gallons of process rinsewater annually.

More on Steven Ward

Thus began in 1995 Steve’s career building what he likes to tell people are “the Best in the World” industrial water recycling systems. He benefitted greatly both technically and professionally from the willing support & unparalleled expertise of Kinetico’s project team led by Dave Chew who provided valuable assistance for Steve’s thesis, and especially Lyle Kirman who continues to be instrumental to Water Innovations’ success. Steve embraced Kinetico’s innovative & highly-efficient technologies further in 2005 in founding Water Innovations as a Kinetico Commercial Dealer & Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM). In 2008, with Kinetico divesting of its Engineered Systems division to focus on its equally best-in-class and likewise-efficient water softening & filtration systems, Steve was fortunate to license Kinetico’s technologies & intellectual property for Water Innovations, adding to his knowledge the details of Kinetico’s designs to continue their distinguished tradition of technical innovations and systems efficiency.

Beyond technology, Steve brings to Water Innovations and its customers his experience and knowledge from 10+ years as Water Innovations’ Managing Partner, preceded by 7-years as Managing Partner of FCT Water Treatment selling WWT chemistries, and before that Process Supply & Service. Before starting his own business, Steve was a chemistry & equipment (including Kinetico) Service Technician to PCB manufacturers and a WWT Chemical Salesman to the PCB and metal-finishing industries. It’s not surprising Steve’s career has for 25 years gravitated towards water recycling & promoting sustainability. He’s a life-long environmentalist – as evidenced by his fraternity mug from Berkeley which from his Frat House Manager days is engraved with his nickname “Recycho.”

Water Innovations is Steve’s and his wife Erica’s company. It’s his passion and his hobby. He’s about building the highest-quality and most-efficient water recycling and wastewater treatment systems in the world! Water Innovations is about outstanding people with integrity, professionalism, and a commitment to Do The Job Right The 1st Time! That’s Steve’s & Water Innovations’ approach to recycling the world’s water one outstanding project after another hopefully making every single one better than the last!.

Steve is responsible for Sales, Engineering and Design & Manufacturing support. For our commitment to customers and to our employees. And to his family who are such a big part of Water Innovations’ success.
