CT-IaB – Continuous Treatment

Innovative Design

Continuous Treatment In-a-Box (CT-IaB) is built on our 15- years of experience manufacturing wastewater treatment systems for pH adjust, metals precipitation, Cr6+ reduction, & CN oxidation in 1 or 2 treatment tanks.

Standard Sizes

Available in Small for up to 500-gal tanks, Medium for up to 1,500-gal tanks, & Large for up to 2,500-gal tanks. The size of the system pump & number of in-tank mixing eductors increase with the tank size, but otherwise the system design and method of operation & control remain the same.

Simplex or Duplex

A Simplex or 1-tank system is typically adequate for Cr6+ reduction or pH-adjust of relatively neutral wastewater with transfer to discharge or for further treatment. Duplex or 2-tank systems are typically required for 2- stage CN oxidation, pH-adjustment of concentrated waste, or metals precipitation requiring coagulant feed before solid-liquid separation.

Purchase Options

Available as an integrated system including treatment tanks with pre-installed fittings & necessary components or as a stand-alone skid with optional tank kits for integration with customer-purchased or provided tanks.

Flow Control

Actuated 3-way valves on the pump inlet & outlet control system flow, splitting it between the source & receiving tank during normal operation or recirculating to the source tank if solution is temporarily out of specifications, at all times operating in sync to ensure source, treatment & receiving tank levels remain in balance

Chemical Dosing

As solution is recirculated by the system pump for tank turn-over and in-tank mixing with pressurized eductors, treatment chemicals are dosed by actuated valves, air-driven pumps, or air-diaphragm pumps depending on the system size & application into the recirculating solution, controlled by in-line pH & ORP sensors simplifying installation and operation compared to mounting the sensors & chemical feed on the tank.

Treatment Tanks

Provided either by the customer or WI, flat-bottom done-top HDLPE tanks are used with a level sensor providing a 4-20 mA signal to regulate incoming & outgoing flows and pump operation, with in-tank mixing by eductors pressurized by recirculating solution drawing water into their vortex for rapid tank turn-over.

Installation

With the CT-IaB skid integrating all system components and single points of connection for 15a@120v power & 25-scfm of compressed air, many customers with just a basic understanding of plumbing & electrical can quickly & easily install the system without need for a professional installation team.

System P&ID

Includes integrated piping & instrument diagram (P&ID) specific to small, medium, or large systems in combination with the optional tank kits can provide for a cost-effective professional system installation. Complete Tank Kits

Optional specific to each system including all Sch 80 PVC tank adaptors for incoming & outgoing pipes, isolation & check valves, level sensor, & ANSI-compliant color-coded labels & directional arrows.

Human Machine Interface

Intuitive and operator friendly controls distinguish CT-IaB from treatment systems costing substantially more yet providing less process automation.

Overview Screen

The Overview Screen provides for system monitoring with display of pH, ORP, & tank levels, and the operating status of the system pump, flow-control valve and chemical feed valves.

Auto and manual control: All System components including the mixing/transfer & chemical feed pumps which are automatically controlled during normal operation can also be manually activated using HandOff-Auto (HOA) switches through the HMI to enable additional chemical feed is necessary for optimal process control.

Trend Screen

The Trend Screen provides real-time display and historical data-logging of operating pH & ORP and can be electronically-stored on the HMI’s SD card for regulatory submittal.

Settings Screen

The Settings Screen allows the operator to easily change pH & ORP setpoints and reaction timers for process optimization and to set alarm set points which alert the operator if pH or ORP deviate from expected.

Chemical feed control: Knowing pH is logarithmic chemical feed is proportionally increased with a greater ON time versus OFF time as solution pH moves away from the mid-point of the operating range to provide precise process control and prevent chemical overdosing.

Installation & Start-Up Assistance

We can provide turn-key system installation including start-up & operator training or oversee installation by the customer. Or to simplify customer system installation, we offer a detailed Piping & Instrument Diagram (P&ID), Tank Component Kits for each system tank including Sch 80 PVC tank adaptors for incoming & outgoing pipes, recommended isolation & check valves, and 4-20mA level sensor or floats, and pre-printed ANSI-compliant color-coded labels for an integrated system including directional arrows for system flows and NEMA-compliant electrical conduit labels, to comply with regulatory requirements.
